Four luxury crewed yachts belonging to Atalanta’s exclusive portfolio sailed across the finish line in the highly competitive Chefs’ Competition and Tablescaping Competition during the recent 5th Mediterranean Yacht Show. The largest event of its kind in the region took place from 28 April to 1 May in Nafplion, Greece, providing the perfect opportunity for chefs and stewards to show their top-notch culinary skills.
This year, Atalanta Golden Yachts is proud to announce that not one but FOUR of its participating yachts outshone all other contestants, gathering a glowing array of prizes and highlighting the superior operating standards that we adhere to. We only select yachts for our portfolio that come up to the high expectations of our demanding clients and having a professional crew is paramount to that ultimate charter experience. One of the most crucial members of the team is its Chef, who is responsible for making sure that the client is not only satisfied by the whole dining experience but also bowled off his feet and it’s no coincidence that our winning crews exhibited exactly those skills in Nafplion.
The crew of M/Y Nashira NV snapped up first place in the Category A’ leg of the competition in both the Chef’s challenge and for Best Tablescaping. The dream team of Chef Konstantinos Vlantikas and Stewardess Valentina Konstantinova presented the perfect combo of fine dining and l'art de la table on the sleek yacht. Finding inspiration for this year’s theme of Surf ’n’ Turf in the land and seas of Greece, Chef Vlantikas presented a very modern take with his Langoustine Tartare, combining the lobster with foie gras and ham consommé. Along with the minimalistic, natural toned table layout, the duet managed to impress the judging panel and bring home the double titles of 1st place winners.
When it came to the Category A’ Platinum section of the competition, Atalanta Golden Yachts had it all wrapped up, with three yachts from its fleet taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd place! A triumphant trio stole the limelight with their hat trick of beautifully plated dishes led by M/Y Option B and Chef Andrea Vercelli. Langoustine was featured again, this time with beef tartare, while runners-up M/Y L’Equinox and M/Y Martina followed with a colourful medley of meat and seafood creations. The three chefs all seemed to agree on one thing; that the elevated dining experience on their yachts is something that they want the guests to remember long after they have returned to shore.
The unanimous feedback from the judges was that all of the crews’ accomplishments were up to the highest international standards and we would like to congratulate all of those who participated.
